TO: Prospective Buyers and Guests: Welcome to the ninth Southeast Missouri SHOW-ME-SELECT Fall Calving Replacement Heifer Sale. The first Fall Sale averaged $1050 and the fifth $1397, sixth $1515 on 238 head, the seventh in 2006 $1499 on 224 and last year the eighth $1149 for 246 heifers. Last year may have been some because of the freeze and no grass. We have 191 heifers from 18 consignors for this sale. There are 160 Black, 14 BWF, 4 Red, 6 Herefords, and 7 Gray heifers in the sale. There are 19 Registered Angus, 27 Registered % Simmental or Simmental. A highlight of the sale is there are 46 TIER 2 SHOW ME SELECT Heifers in the Sale. This means that they have met requirements and are out of high accuracy AI Sires. There are more heifers sired by AI sires that do not quite meet the accuracy requirements. There are 31 head bred AI to Mytty In Focus, 19 bred to New Frontier 095, 11 to SynGen Corona, 11 to SS Objective, 10 to Connection and 10 to Yield Grade in this sale. These are leading Angus and Simmental AI sires in the sale with 9 head All of these heifers were born and raised on the farms and have known sires and birthdates. They were weighed, pelvic checked in the Fall of 2007. Most were synchronized and A.I. bred and there are 145 heifers that are AI bred selling. The genetics are tremendous on this set of heifers with several stacked generations for calving and growth and carcass traits. Several consignors feed their cattle and get top premiums at US Premium Beef. Consignors are listed in alphabetical order so the sale order will be different and drawn randomly.
