Southeast Missouri Show-Me Select Replacement Heifer Sale

Missouri Cattlemen Association and Missouri Dept of Agriculture.
Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive
soundness, pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and
weight. They have undergone a comprehensive health program, and are
guaranteed bred. There are 70 A.I. bred heifers. Several herds have 6 to
7 generations of stacked pedigrees. Also some herds have carcass data
from U.S. Premium Beef on steers mates. Premiums have run as high as
268.00 per head. All heifers are expected to calve from mid January thru
late April with projected dates given for each lot of heifers. Within the
offering, there were 98 percent black or black white face, some
Registered Angus, Registered Polled Hereford and Registered Simmentals,
the rest of the offering consisted of Angus, Hereford, Simmental,
Charolais crosses. Heifers were graded and sorted into uniform lots
according to projected calving dates and body type similarity. The
producers attendance and demand was higher than the spring sale.
Supply consisted of 134 bred heifers from 17 producers, in 69 lots
selling to 29 different buyers, average weight 1093 lbs, with a sale
average of $1290.00 per head. There were 39 lots of AI bred heifers with
an average sale price of $1319.00; 24 lots all natural bred heifers with
an average price of $1255.00; 6 lots of mixed AI and natural bred heifers
with an average sale price of 1272.00.

reputation lots 1550.00; Large 2, 2nd-3rd stage, 1125.00-1325.00;
reputation lots, 1475.00 Medium and Large 1-2, 2nd stage, 1175.00-
1275.00; few Medium 1, 2nd-3rd stage, 1075.00-1250.00; few Medium 2,
2nd-3rd stage, 1050.00-1150.00 per head.
