Southeast Missouri "Show-Me-Select" Heifer Sale

Welcome to the eighth Southeast Missouri SHOW-ME-SELECT Fall Calving Replacement Heifer Sale. The first Fall Sale averaged $1050 and the fifth $1397, sixth $1515 on 238 head and the seventh in 2006 $1499 on 224 heifers. This average is an indication of the success buyers had calving the heifers and the genetics of the heifers that have been in the fall calving sale. There are 272 heifers consigned to the sale. The breakdown on color is 210 Black, 47 BWF, 3 Red, 6 RWF and 6 white. There are 11 Registered Angus, 7 Registered Simmental and 6 Registered Polled Herefords.

There are 160 A.I. bred heifers with 80 of these Ultrasound fetal sexed and there are 41 that have heifer calf embryos and 39 that have bull calf embryo's. There are 19 out of Objective, 19 SAF Connection, 26 B/R New Frontier 095, 14 SAF Directive and 2 Bon View New Design 878. The sires represented include only 9 A.I. bulls. There are 51 bred A.I. to SAF Connection, 35 bred to SS Objective, 29 to New Frontier 095, 22 to SAF Directive, 11 to LLC Dillon and 7 to New Design 878. Others are GAR Integrity, Bennett Total and LT 598 Bando 9074.

All of these heifers were home born and raised with known birthdates and sires. The 272 heifers in this sale were weighed, pelvic checked and tract scored in the Fall of 2006. Most were synchronized A.I. bred using the 14 day CIDR Select Protocol and then time bred. The breeding work is done and you are buying a bred heifer guaranteed bred for 30 days after the sale.

The genetics on these heifers is excellent with 7-8 generations of stacked pedigrees in several of the herds. Seven of the herds have harvested same calf crop steer mates to these heifers at U.S. Premium beef and have carcass data available. Premiums have run as high as $210 per head.

Consignors are listed in alphabetical order so the sale order will be different because they draw for the sale order. The catalog has footnotes for your use and includes service sire EPD's and accuracies.
