   Coordinated by Show Me Select Board with University Extension, Commercial
Agriculture Program, MU College of Veterinary Medicine, Missouri Cattlemen
Association and Missouri Dept of Agriculture.

   Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness,
pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They have
undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred. There are 160
A.I. bred heifers with 80 of these Ultrasound fetal sexed. Several herds have 7
to 8 generations of stacked pedigrees. Seven herds have carcass data from U.S.
Premium Beef on steers mates. Premiums have run as high as 210.00 per head. All
heifers are expected to calve from early September thru mid November with
projected dates given for each lot of heifers. With in the offering, there were
98 percent black or black white face, 11 Registered Angus, 6 Registered Polled
Hereford, 7 Registered Simmentals,  the rest of the offering consisted of Angus,
Hereford, Simmental, Charolais crosses. Heifers were graded and sorted into
uniform lots according to projected calving dates and body type similarity. The
producers attendance and demand was lighter than in previous sales.

   Supply consisted of 265 bred heifers from 15 producers, in 108 lots selling
to 39 different buyers, average weight 1060 lbs, with a sale average of $1132.00
per head. There were 61 lots of AI bred heifers with an average sale price of
$1214.00; 38 lots all natural bred heifers with an average price of $1019.00; 10
lots of mixed AI and natural bred heifers with an average sale price of 1109.00.

   Replacement Heifers: Few Registered Angus or Simmentals Large 1-2, 2nd stage
$1150.00-$1350.00; Fancy 1500.00-1850.00; Large 1, 2nd stage, 1150.00-1275.00;
Large 2, 2nd stage, $1000.00-$1250.00; reputation lots, 1350.00-1450.00  Medium
and Large 2, 2nd stage, 1025.00-1250.00; Medium 1, 2nd stage, 1075.00-$1200.00;
Medium 2, 2nd stage, 950.00-1050.00 per head.
