This is good sound functional group of heifers. The heifers are sired by several top Sydenstricker bulls including, Sydgen 1407 Corona, Sydgen Contact, Sydgen focus L57, Sydgen Rocky Road, Butchs Maximum 3130 and other top bulls. The AI service sire is SAF Connection. Connection sires good growing calves with good carcass and great dispositions. These heifers are Angus, Simmental/Angus cross and Charolais Angus cross. Four black heifers were sired by Butch's High Prime Son and three by a Simmental Angus cross bull out of Nichols Farms breeding. The seven Charolais were sired by TSC Max 9714 a very good Charolais.

The black heifers are AI bred to Dillon. He consistently delivers low birth weight and growthy, good looking calves. He also has high marks for both IMF 2% and REA 15%. The Charolais heifers are AI bred to Solution. He is an incredible calving ease, patent growth and super carcass merit bull.

The herd is QSA certified. Heifers have known birth dates and sires for generations. Bulls and semen used in the herd all have excellent EPD's for low birth weight, high weaning and yearling weight plus carcass merit. Sixty one steer mates of these heifers were fed on the farm and marketed to U.S. Premium Beef where they graded 69% Choice. The steer's mates had an average daily gain of 3.56 lbs/day, an average off test weight of 1357, and yield grade average was 3.2. The steers were marketed with an average age of less than 15 months.

A.I. pregnancy rate following estrus synchronization was 69%; pregnancy rate after the breeding season was 93% (A.I. and Cleanup). Twenty-six of the A.I. bred heifers were ultrasound fetal sexed and 16 are pregnant with heifer calf embryos and 10 with bull calf embryo's.

The A.I. sire is New Frontier 095, a calving ease bull with growth and carcass merit. Twenty nine of the heifers are A.I. pregnant to New Frontier 095. New Frontier 095 ranks among the top 4% of proven sires for IMF, top 5% for $W, top 15% for WEPD, top 10% for YEDD, and top 10% for $F. Fourteen of the heifers are sired by the ABS Angus Bull SAF Directive and 8 are sired by the ABS Simmental Bull Daume Legend M081.

I have two heifers in the sale. Both of these heifers are sired by SydGen 1407 Corona. Syden Corona is siring slick haired easy fleshing cattle. The first carcass data on Corona looks excellent. Both heifers are bred to MKBA Expect N402 R331. He is a GAR Expectation son out of a SAF Hi Choice daughter and SAF Focus is the maternal grand sire. The dams of these two heifers are 6 year old cows that have average weaning ratios of 116 and 112 on 5 progeny each while maintaining a 365 day calving interval. The calves out of these heifers will be 3/4 sibs with growth, carcass and a lot of production bred into them. The heifers are tattooed in their left ear the same number as their ranch tag for permanent ID.
