North Central Missouri Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Sale

   Coordinated by Missouri "Show-Me-Select" Replacement Heifers, Inc.
in cooperation with University of Missouri Extension, University of
Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program, MU College of Veterinary
Medicine, Missouri Cattlemen's Association and Missouri Department
of Agriculture-USDA.

   Heifers in the sale have met minimum standards for reproductive
soundness, pelvic size, body condition and weight. They have also
underwent a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred
to easy calving bulls, with several synchronized and artificially bred.
Projected calving dates were given for all lots with heifers expected
to calve from February 1 thru early April.  Heifers were screened for
blemishes, frame, muscle, body condition score (BCS), and disposition
by a final screening committee comprised of official graders from the
Missouri Dept of Agriculture and USDA, and then sorted into lots
according to calving dates and body type similarity.  Demand good with
100 percent black heifers including a couple packages of registered
heifers.  Sale average of 1322.00 per head on 27 lots.

   Bred Heifers:  Large 1-2  1100-1300 lbs early 3rd stages preg
1325.00-1500.00 per head, 1 Lot Registered Angus 1540.00 per head.
Medium and Large 1-2  1000-1150 lbs mostly late 2nd and few early 3rd
period preg 1125.00-1300.00 per head.
