Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness,
pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They have
undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred. Many were
artificially bred. All heifers have known birth dates and parentage and several
herds have 6 to 7 generations of stacked pedigrees. A few herds have carcass
data from U.S. Premium Beef on steers mates. All heifers are expected to calve
from late January thru late April with projected dates given for each lot of
heifers. There was 148 black, 32 black white face, 1 white, 2 gray, 12 RWF
heifers in the offering. With in the offering, there were a few Registered
Angus, Polled Hereford and Simmentals heifers scattered throughout. Heifers were
graded and sorted into uniform lots according to projected calving dates and
body type similarity. A capacity crowd attended the sale with a lot of interest.
Demand good.
Supply consisted of 195 bred heifers from 22 producers, in 88 lots selling to
33 different buyers, average weight 1165 lbs, with a sale average of $1289.00
per head. There were 41 lots of AI bred heifers with an average sale price of
$1318.00; 40 lots all natural bred heifers with an average price of $1270.00; 6
lots of mixed AI and natural bred heifers with an average sale price of 1263.00.

$1325.00-$1650.00; Fancy 1725.00; Large 1, 2nd stage and 3rd stage 1325.00-
1525.00; Large 2, 2nd stage and 3rd stage $1250.00-$1475.00; Medium and Large 1-
2, 2nd stage and 3rd stage, 1200.00-1375.00; Medium 1, 2nd stage and 3rd stage,
$1275.00-$1400.00; Medium 2, 2nd stage and 3rd stage, 1025.00-1150.00 per head.
