Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness,
pelvic size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They have undergone a
comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred. Many were artificially
bred. All heifers have known birth dates and parentage and several herds have 6-
7 generations of stacked pedigrees. A few herds have carcass data from
U.S.Premium Beef on the steer mates. All Heifers are expected to calve from
September 1 thru November 29 with projected dates given for each lot of heifers.
Offering was approximately 16 percent registered; 80 percent black and black
white face with a few red, red white face and white heifers scattered
throughout. Heifers where graded and sorted into uniform lots according to
projected calving dates and body typed similarity. A capacity crowd attended the
sale with a lot of interest. Demand very good.
Supply consisted of 225 bred heifers, in 94 lots selling to 30 different
buyers, average weight 1073 lbs, with a sale average of 1499.00 per head. There
were 48 lots of AI bred heifers with average sale price of 1648.00; 34 lots of
all natural bred heifers with an average price of 1322.00 per head; 12 lots of
mixed AI and natural bred heifers with an average sale price of 1324.00 per
head.
Replacement Heifers: Large 1 2nd stage 1500.00-1750.00; fancy 1875.00-
2000.00; Large 1-2 2nd stage 1325.00-1550.00; few fancy registered 1750.00-
1950.00; few fancy reputation heifers 1950.00-2225.00 Large 2 2nd stage
1250.00-11450.00; Medium 1 2nd stage 1300.00-1575.00; Medium 1-2 2nd stage
1250.00-1450.00; Medium 2 2nd stage 1150.00-1350.00
