Northeast Missouri Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Sale

   Coordinated by University of Missouri Extension, University of
Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program, MU College of Veterinary
Medicine, Missouri Cattlemen's Association and Missouri Department
of Agriculture.

   All Heifers in the sale have met minimum standards for reproductive
soundness, pelvic size, body condition and weight. They have also
undergone a comprehensive health program, and were guaranteed bred
to easy calving bulls.  Many were artificially bred.  Projected
calving dates were given for all lots with all heifers expected to
calve from January thru the end of April, with the majority due in
February.  The offering was screened for blemishes, muscle, frame,
body condition score (BCS), and disposition by a final screening
committee, comprised of official graders from the Missouri Dept of
Agriculture and USDA, then sorted into lots according to calving
dates and body type similarity.  Demand Moderate to Good.  Sale
average for the 58 lots was 1240.00 dollars per head.

   Replacement Bred Heifers:  Large 1-2 1150-1300 lbs 3rd stage preg
1260.00-1375.00 per head.  Medium and Large 1-2 1000-1150 lbs mostly
3rd stage 1200.00-1325.00 per head, few lots Registered Angus
1100-1250 lbs 3rd period 1350.00-1600.00 per head, few small lots
1100.00-1175.00 per head.  Medium 1-2 950-1100 lbs 2nd and 3rd stage
1125.00-1200.00 per head.
