Southeast Missouri Show-Me Select Replacement Heifer Sale

Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive
soundness, pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition,
and weight. They have undergone a comprehensive health program, and
are guaranteed bred. Many were artificially bred. All heifers are expected
to calve from late January thru April with projected dates given for each lot of
heifers. Offering was approximately 98 percent black and black white face with a
few Registered Angus, red, and white heifers scattered throughout. Heifers were
graded and sorted into uniform lots according to projected calving dates and
body type similarity. A capacity crowd attended the sale with a lot of interest.
Demand very good.
Supply consisted of 204 bred heifers, in 83 lots selling to 38 different
buyers, average weight 1082 lbs, with a sale average of $1300.00 per head.
There were 45 lots of AI bred heifers with an average sale price of $1358.00;
33 lots all natural bred heifers with an average price of $1026.00; 5 lots
of mixed AI and natural bred heifers with an average sale price of $1121.00.
Replacement Heifers: Few Registered Angus Large 1, 3rd stage $1750.00-
$1800.00; Large 1, 2nd and 3rd stage 1450.00-1650.00, fancy 1700.00; Large 1-2,
2nd and 3rd stage $1200.00-$1400.00, Medium and Large 1-2, 2nd and 3rd stage,
1200.00-1350.00; Medium 1, 2nd and 3rd stage, $1150.00-$1250.00; Fancy 3rd stage
1400.00; Medium 1-2, 2nd and 3rd stage, $1250.00-$1350.00; Medium 2, 2nd and 3rd
stage, few $1050.00-$1150.00 per head.
