with University Extension, University of Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program, 
MU College of Veterinary Medicine, Missouri Cattlemen Association 
and Missouri Dept of Agriculture. 
 
   Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive 
soundness, pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition,
and weight. They have undergone a comprehensive health program, and 
are guaranteed bred. Many were artificially bred. All heifers are expected 
to calve from late September thru November with projected dates given for each 
lot of heifers. Offering was approximately 97 percent black and black white face 
with a few red, and white heifers scattered throughout. Heifers were graded and 
sorted into uniform lots according to projected calving dates and body type 
similarity. A capacity crowd attended the sale with a lot of interest. Demand 
very good. 
    
   Supply consisted of 245 bred heifers, in 84 lots selling to 32 different 
buyers, average weight 947 lbs, with a sale average of $1392.00 per head.
There were 49 lots of AI bred heifers with an average sale price of $1413.00;
33 lots all natural bred heifers with an average price of $1364.00; 2 lots
of mixed AI and natural bred heifers with an average sale price of $1315.00.

   Replacement Heifers: Large 1, 2nd stage $1350.00-$1425.00; fancy 1475.00-
$1650.00; Large 1-2, 2nd stage, $1225.00-$1400.00, fancy 1550.00-1750.00, few 
fancy registered, $1650.00-$2000.00; Large 1-2, 1st and 2nd stage, 1150.00-
1300.00; Large 2, 2nd stage, $1225.00-$1325.00; Medium 1-2, 2nd stage, $1150.00-
$1300.00; Medium 2, 2nd stage, few $1150.00-$1225.00 per head.
