Southwest Missouri Replacement Heifer Sale Show-Me-Select

in conjunction with University Extension, The Commercial Agriculture
Program, the MU College of Veterinary Medicine, The Missouri Cattle-
men's Association and the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
Requirements for all heifers: calfhood vaccinated
complete vaccination program
treated internal-external parasites
polled or dehorned
minimum weight and body condition
pelvic and repro tract evaluation
screened for blemishes
bred to low birth epd bulls
Supply consisted of 133 bred heifers, average weight 1045 lbs, with a
sale average of $1131.00. These heifers were bred to calve between
August 29 and November 23 with 45 percent A.I. bred and 55 percent
carried natural service.
Of the 133 head selling, 59 percent were black colored cattle, either
purebred Angus or Angus crosses. 41 percent were mostly red color with
a few grey (Angus-Simmental crosses) including Limousin, Simmental and
Gelbvieh crosses. Actual sale weights were from 818 to 1505 lbs, mostly
in the 950 to 1150 lb range.
