West Central Missouri Show-Me Select Replacement Heifer Sale

Receipts: 201 bred heifers
Coordinated by UMC Extention, Commercial Ag Program, MU College of
Veterinary Medicine, MO Cattleman's Assoc. and Mo Dept of Agriculture
Heifers in the sale had met minimum standards for reproducitve soundness,
pelvic size, boby condiction and weight. They have also undergone a
comprehensive health program and are guaaranteed bred. About 50 percent
were bred artificially to leading calving ease bulls in there respective
breeds and most to calf from January 18 thru April 15, 2002. Offering was
primarily Angus and Angus cross, Simmental and Simmental cross, Red Angus
and Polled Hereford. Heifers were graded and sorted into uniform lots
according to projected calving dates and body type similarity.
Sale average for bred heifers: 1020.00 per head.
Large 1-2 42 head Simmental, Angus cross and Red Angus 1000-1200 lbs
1100.00-1335.00 per head.
Medium and Large 1-2 140 head Angus, Angus cross and Red Angus 975-1050
lbs 900.00-1085.00; 19 head Angus cross, Red Angus and Polled Hereford
865-1000 lbs 775.00-885.00 per head.
