Southeast Missouri Show-Me Select Replacement Heifer Sale

Cattle Receipts: 403 (All bred heifers)

Coordinated by Southeast Missouri Beef Cattle Improvement
Association in conjunction with the University of Missouri
Extension, University of Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program,
the MU College of Veterinary Medicine,  Missouri Cattlemen's
Association and Missouri Department of Agriculture.

Heifers in the sale have met minimum standards for reproductive
soundness, pelvic size, body condition and weight.  They have also
undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred. 
Many were mated artificially to leading calving ease bulls in their
respective breeds and most are to calve between February 1 and April
1, 2000.  Offering was primarily black and black white face heifers
(71 percent) and sorted in uniform lots according to projected
calving dates, sale day body type similarity, and color.

Sale Average: 753.00

Bred Heifers: Medium and Large 1 with estimated weights.

Registered Simmental and Angus: Most A.I. very few Natural Service
                    950-1100 lbs   975.00-1350.00

A.I. bred heifers: 950-1150 lbs, mostly 800.00-925.00.
                   875-1050 lbs, 600.00-825.00.

Natural bred heifers: 800-1100 lbs, 575.00-775.00
                Few top uniform lots, 900-1150 lbs, 825.00-900.00.

Natural and A.I. bred heifers in same lot: 
               800-1050 lbs, mostly 600.00-775.00.
               Few top uniform lots, 950-1100 lbs, 825.00-875.00.
