Northeast Missouri Replacement Heifer Sale Show-Me-Select
F & T Livestock Market, Palmyra, MO December 11, 1998
Coordinated by Northeast Missouri Beef Cattle Improvement Association
in conjunction with University Extension, The Commercial Agriculture
Program, the MU College of Veterinary Medicine, The Missouri Cattle-
men's Association and the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
Supply consisted of 392 bred heifers with all heifers bred to Angus
bulls to calve between January 10 and May 1. Entire sale averaged
$803.
Requirements for all heifers: calfhood vaccinated; complete vaccination
program; treated internal-external parasites; polled or dehorned;
minimum grade and body condition standards; pelvic and repro tract
evaluation; screened for blemishes.
Bred heifers are examined to determine calving dates and consisted
of both AI and natural service to bulls with a low EPD birthweights.
Large 1, Heifers 800-1000 lbs 740.00-860.00 per head; 900-1150 lbs
870.00-940.00 per head with couple packages 975.00-1010.00 per head.
Medium and Large 1, (Several meeting only the minimum body condition
requirements), 700-850 lbs 660.00-730.00 per head.
