| Rhizoctonia canker or dieback and root rot (fungus) | Stems and leaves may become blackened or blighted. Shoots beyond necrotic area wilt and die. Worse in wet weather. | Remove severely affected plants. Iprodione, thiophanate-methyl, thiophanate-methyl plus mancozeb, or triflumizole may be applied at two-week intervals. It may be necessary to increase air circulation by pruning overhanging shrubs and improve drainage by amending soil. |
