Anthracnose (fungus) |
Twig canker. Leaves above canker turn pale green, wilt, shrivel and cling to stem. |
Refer to the PDC Fact Sheet "Leaf Spot Diseases of Shade Trees and Ornamentals" for more information. Remove and destroy fallen leaves. If serious, use thiophanate-methyl. Make first application at bud breakand the second 10 to 14 days later. Under wet conditions, apply a third spray 10 to 14 days later. |

Thrips (insect) |
Hedge from a distance may appear dull and dry. Leaves are silvery with dark flecks. |
Primarily an aethetic problem on vigorously growing shrubs. If control is necessary to maintain appearance, carbaryl, imidacloprid, and cyfluthrin are labeled for control. |
