Hackberry


Leaf galls (various insects) Raised bumps of various sizes and shapes. Does not affect plant vigor. See MU publication G 7272.

Powdery mildew (fungus) Powdery white growth on either leaf surface. Control rarely necessary.

Witch's broom (fungus-mite complex) Widespread. Unsightly clusters of dwarfed twigs. Twig die back. No chemical control is available. On small plants, cut off clusters back to healthy wood.
