Mandatory Synthetic Auxin Herbicide Training Available from MU Extension Online;
Computer Lab for Producers Available at Barton, Dade and Jasper County Offices

LAMAR, Mo. - Online training on synthetic auxin herbicides (dicamba and 2,4-D products) is now available, says University of Missouri Extension agronomy field scientist Jill Scheidt.

For more information about the online course, go to extension2.missouri.edu/courses/synthetic-auxin-herbicide-applicator-training-2019-sp-non-certificate-option.

The Missouri Department of Agriculture (MDA) requires certified applicators to complete online or in-person training annually before buying or using synthetic auxin herbicide tolerant products. Only certified applicators may purchase and/or use Engenia, XtendiMax or Fexapan.

Visit https://agriculture.mo.gov/plants/pesticides/ to learn more about Missouri's requirements.

COMPUTER LAB OPTIONS

Several MU Extension offices in southwest Missouri are holding a computer lab option for producers to complete the online training module. This training is required on an annual basis in order to purchase any of the approved synthetic auxin herbicide tolerant products: Engenia, XtendiMax, or FeXapan.

The training takes about two hours to complete and examines best management practices to ensure proper application of synthetic auxin herbicides such as 2,4-D and dicamba.
