Crane Grazing School set for June 20-22

GALENA, Mo. — Livestock producers who want to better use their grass this year will not want to miss a grazing school according to Tim Schnakenberg, agronomy specialist with University of Missouri Extension.

"These three-day schools will help you see your grazing strategy and your grass and forages in a new light. You will better understand the science and strategies that could potentially help to significantly increase forage availability and nutrition for your animals. I know of very few people who regretted putting a grazing system in," said Schnakenberg.

The next school will be offered in Crane on June 20, 21 and 22 and will include topics by several qualified speakers and two farm tours. Participants will learn how to build electric fence, set up waterers, identify your grass and weeds, allocate pastures for the number of head you own and understand your soils better.
