Ozark County Extension High
Tunnel Greenhouse Workshop Jan. 20


GAINSVILLE, Mo. - Ozark County MU Extension is hosting a "High Tunnel Greenhouse Workshop" from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 20 at the Gainesville Livestock Auction, Hwy 160 W, Gainesville.

There is a $10 registration fee for the workshop. Registrations can be delivered to Ozark County Extension, PO Box 187, 526 3rd St., Gainesville, MO 65655 or made by calling 417-679-3525.

As part of the workshop, a team of extension specialists will teach on a variety of topics.

Shon Bishop with Lincoln University Extension will teach an introduction to high tunnels session along with a session on growing vegetables in the high tunnel.

Patrick Byers, horticulture specialist with University of Missouri Extension, will teach sessions on growing fruit in the high tunnel and crop rotations in the high tunnel.

David Middleton with Lincoln University Extension will address irrigation strategies in the high tunnel. April Wilson with NRCS will discuss local program options and Amy Patillo, community development specialist with MU Extension, will lead a special session on health care insurance.

From 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., participants will tour an area high tunnel farm.
