in Springfield September 26

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - University of Missouri Extension's Southwest Regional Council Meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Greene County Extension Center located in the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center, 2400 S. Scenic Ave in Springfield.

Please register your attendance for the meeting by contacting Sarah Grubaugh by email at grubaughs@missouri.edu or by calling (417) 865-0707.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The business meeting will get underway at 7 p.m.

At this meeting, Southwest Regional Director Jay Chism will discuss the new staffing structure and focus for MU Extension.

"I hope regional council representatives can attend so you can take the information back to your county councils," said Chism.

Ted Probert, dairy specialist with MU Extension in Wright County, will provide information about the Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship Program he leads in the region.

Regional Extension Council meetings are open to the public but, due to limited space, advance registration is necessary. Call the regional extension office at (417) 865-0707 before June 19.

The regional extension council for southwest Missouri is comprised of representatives from each of the 17 extension county councils in the Southwest Region. Each county council, whose members are elected by a public vote, selects its representatives to the regional council where each county has one vote.

The purpose of regional extension councils is to be a forum through which member county councils cooperate in providing effective educational programs for the region.
