Free Workshop Focused on Forest Farming in Missouri

MOUNT VERNON, Mo. - "Forest Farming in Missouri" is a free workshop planned for 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30 at the Southwest Research Center, 14548 Hwy. H, Mt. Vernon.

This is a free educational workshop that will teach participants to identify high-value trees on their property, maximize income potential, and develop Shitake mushroom production.

Guest speakers will be Dr. Michael Gold, director of agroforestry at the University of Missouri; Gregory Ormsby Mori, Education and Outreach Coordinator Department of Forestry at the University of Missouri; and Andrew Thomas, research assistant professor, University of Missouri at the Southwest Center.

The program is being jointly sponsored by the cooperative extension programs at Lincoln University and the University of Missouri.
