54th Field Day is Sept. 9 at MU Southwest Research Center in Mt. Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, Mo. - A wide variety of agricultural research and practices will be showcased during the 54th Field Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Southwest Research Center, 14548 Hwy H, Mt. Vernon.

Attendees can learn from demonstrations and presentations on timely topics from agricultural experts.

Family-focused activities — including a pumpkin patch, grass maze, face painting and fun agricultural-related learning experiences — are also planned.

The Southwest Research Center is part of a network of University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) centers across Missouri conducting research benefiting agricultural producers and natural resource managers.

Field Day is free and open to the public.
