"Bringing Back the American Small Farm Conference"
is in West Plains March 8-9

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Interest is huge in supporting local food production, and the "Bringing Back the American Small Farm Conference" will share information on how to contribute, whether you are a backyard gardener or farming 100 acres.

"The American Small Farm Conference" is planned for March 8-9 at the West Plains Civic Center in West Plains.

The conference will offer educational sessions and outdoor demonstrations. The keynote speakers will be Oscar Will of Mother Earth News and Grit magazines, and Patrice Gros, innovate farmer from Foundation Farms in Arkansas.

"This conference is a unique opportunity to learn from nationally known experts in all aspects of small scale farming," said Patrick Byers of MU Extension.

Speakers will address no to low till farming, organic production, high tunnels, small scale beef production, sheep and goat farming, direct marketing, and more.

Registration for the conference costs $50 and includes both days of the conference and lunches.
