"Living a Healthy Life with Diabetes" Classes Offering in Springfield and Republic During June

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - "Living a Healthy Life with Diabetes" is a free six-week series of classes taught by Dr. Pam Duitsman, a nutrition and health education specialist with University of Missouri Extension, in collaboration with Mercy and Cox Hospitals.

Duitsman will begin teaching a new series at Mercy from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Mercy Smith-Gylnn-Callaway in Springfield on Monday's from June 4 to July 9.

Duitsman is offering an additional evening class at Republic Community Center in Republic, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on Monday's, June 11 - July 16.

Participants in the class learn how to manage symptoms of diabetes, communicate effectively with your health care team, plan menus keep blood sugar in check, and get more out of life.
