New Sponsorship Opportunities with Greene County MU Extension Abound;
Sponsors Needed for Events Ranging From a Betterment Night to Salute to Farms and More

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Sponsorships help to expand the research-based programming offering by University of Missouri Extension specialists in Greene County.

Volunteer members of the Greene County Extension Council are currently seeking sponsors for several large summer and fall events.

"The goal is to increase sponsorships for local MU Extension programming to reach additional participants and to expand our outreach in Greene County," said David Burton, county program director for MU Extension in Greene County.

Council members are preparing to contact their friends and favorite businesses about sponsorships. At the same time, sponsorships provide an opportunity for these friends and business owners to get their name in front of a large audience via the marketing efforts we make.

Every extension program in Greene County has a tremendous amount of marketing behind it to draw strong audience participation. Sponsors benefit from those marketing efforts too.

"Most of our named and promoted programs have an attendance of 75 to 100 people, and our marketing efforts will reach 150,000 households or more. In total, this equals eyeballs for a small amount of money," said Burton

Several sponsors are needed for the Salute to Century and Family Farms on Sept. 18. Opportunities range from $100 to $250 and include sponsoring some of the honored families so they can attend the event.

The Annual Tomato Expo on July 24 needs at least three sponsorships of $100.

The Ash Grove Betterment Night, a new event being planned for July 19, needs three to four sponsors willing to invest $200 each. The event includes dinner (per person costs will benefit the Ash Grove Sunshine Center). Speakers that evening will address health insurance literacy, nutrition and health, and volunteerism in the community.
