Christian County Master Gardeners Invite Public to
April 23 Meeting and April 28 Plant Sale

OZARK, Mo. - The public is invited to hear Kim Banner, a naturalist with the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, discuss how gardeners can protect themselves against stings, bites, and diseases starting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 23, during the Christian County Master Naturalists, meeting at Central Bank of the Ozarks in Nixa.

Banner will discuss environmentally safe methods of protecting against mosquitoes that can carry West Nile and other diseases, as well as stings and bites from other insects and animals. Banner has been employed with the Missouri Department of Conservation at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center since 2003.


The master gardeners annual plant sale will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 28 at the Nixa Community Center, 701 N. Taylor Way, Nixa. The sale will feature trees, shrubs, natives, perennials, tomato and pepper starts, groundcovers, hanging baskets, shade plants, annuals, herbs, garden accessories and more.

Proceeds benefit CCMG's public gardens, scholarship and other projects.
