Fescue Renovation School in Mt. Vernon March 6

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Persons wanting information about fescue toxicity problems and how to renovate pastures to avoid them are encouraged to register for a fescue renovation school scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 6 at the University of Missouri Southwest Research Center, Mt. Vernon.

"In spite of all the research information put out regarding fescue toxicosis over the years, many people still have basic questions," said Eldon Cole, livestock specialist with University of Missouri Extension. "This school is designed to answer questions about various fescue problems, toxins, tests, and management practices."

The school is presented by the Alliance for Grassland Renewal and University of Missouri Extension. Registration fees are $60 if submitted by Feb. 27. Registration costs $75 per person at the door and that includes meal, refreshments and proceedings.

The one-day school in Mt. Vernon will be the only one offered in Missouri during 2018. Other universities offering it includes Clemson University, University of Kentucky, North Carolina State University and Virginia Tech University.

For registration information and other questions, contact the Lawrence County Extension Center at 417-466-3102.
