McDonald and Newton Counties Offer Joint
Pesticide Applicator Training Class on Feb. 8

PINEVILLE, Mo. - Persons engaged in the application of a restricted-use pesticide for the purposes of producing an agricultural commodity on property they ow, or rent should consider getting a private pesticide applicator certificate according to Jennifer Lutes, agriculture business specialist, University of Missouri Extension.

The University of Missouri Extension's Private Pesticide Applicator Program reaches every Missouri county to train farmers and landowners on the safe and proper use of pesticides.

McDonald and Newton Counties will hold a joint Private Pesticide Applicators training starting at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8 in the Pineville Community Center, 201 Jessie James Rd, Pineville.

The cost for class materials is $25 per person.

This training is for producers of agricultural commodities, 18 years or older, wishing to renew or receive their private pesticide applicator's license in order to buy and apply restricted use chemicals on their own Missouri land.

License holders need to renew their license every five years.

For more information or to register prior to Monday, Feb. 5, call the McDonald County Extension office at 417-223-4775.
