"Making Money Count" Money Management Class Being
Offered in Houston March 23 by Texas County Extension
HOUSTON, Mo. University of Missouri Texas County Extension will offer a "Making Money Count" class at 10 a.m. and at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 at the Texas County Extension Center, 114, W. Main, Houston.
"Some families and individuals are struggling to make ends financially meet or maintain their current economic status. Making Money Count aims to at provide basic money management information in order to help household budgets stretch as far as possible," said Angie Fletcher, human development specialist and county program director for Texas County MU Extension.
This program is suitable for people of all income levels.
Each topic will help consumers handle their money more effectively, protect themselves as consumers, and increase their financial knowledge.
Topics include: Bank Services: Intro to Bank Services; Borrowing Basics; How to keep track of your money; Pay yourself first; Spending Goals; Consumer Beware; Credit: and How your credit history affects your future.
Pre-registration is required with a maximum attendance of 15 participants per class. There is a $5 fee for the class, with the second individual from the same address able to attend for no charge (with only one set of handouts provided).
There are scholarships available for participants who qualify.
