Child Care, Foster Parent Training in Springfield Starts Nov. 7
University of Missouri Extension in Greene County is offering a series of four workshop sessions on eight topics (12 clock hours of training) for child care and foster care providers from southwest Missouri counties.
The workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 7, Saturday, Nov. 14, Saturday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 12 at 833 Boonville, Springfield, Mo.
The workshop sessions will be presented by Dr. Jim Wirth, a human development specialist with University of Missouri Extension.
The Nov. 7 session topics are: "What does Time Mean to Children" and "Math for Every Age."
Session topics on Nov. 14 are" "I Want! I want!! I want!!! Building Good Consumers" and "Science for Young Thinkers."
The Dec. 5 session topics are: "Becoming Comfortable & Competent at Using Puppets" and "Art Appreciation 101 for Young Children."
Session topics on Dec. 12 are "Why is Working with Wood so Good for Kids?" and "Sparking Kids' Curiosity."
