Register for "Understanding and Using
Your Forage Laboratory Report" Workshop
in West Plains by Feb. 10
WEST PLAINS, Mo. University of Missouri Extension will offer a three-session workshop entitled, "Understanding and Using the Laboratory Report on Your Forages" from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 14, Feb. 16 and March 6 at the Howell County Extension Center in West Plains.
Ted Probert, dairy specialist and Randy Wiedmeier, livestock specialist, both with University of Missouri Extension, will be instructors for the program.
There will be a charge of $30 per person charge for the three-session workshop to cover mileage, printed materials, and other program expenses. Pre-paid registration is required.

The workshop will include the following: 1) Review of Nutrients Important to Animal Production and Health; 2) Proper Forage Sampling Procedures; 3) Participants will sample their forages and obtain a laboratory report; 4) Interpretation of laboratory reports on the forages; 5) Understanding the Nutrient Requirements of Farm Animals; and 6) Balancing Diets for Farm Animals using the Laboratory Report.
