Winter Dairy Day is Scheduled for Feb. 7 in Marionville
GALENA, Mo. - "Winter Dairy Day" is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Alice Irene's Restaurant, 310 US Hwy 60, Marionville.
"The meeting will focus on topics relevant to today's dairy farmer," said Tim Schnakenberg, an agronomy specialist with University of Missouri Extension. "Dairy farmers will benefit because we plan to cover a wide array of current topics in a short time-frame."
The event will feature three major presentations.
"Farm Succession for the Next Generation," will be presented by Wesley Tucker, ag business specialist with MU Extension.
"Top Ten Benchmarks for Successful Dairies," will be presented by Reagan Bluel, dairy specialist with MU Extension.
"Reduced Lignin Alfalfa," will be presented by Ben Fizette, field crops sales manager for MFA, Golden City.
The seminar will also host a "Youth Panel: The Future of the Dairy Industry," with Jake Howdeshell, College of the Ozarks Student; Haley Scott, 2015 C of O graduate; and Tyler Fletcher, 2015 C of O graduate.
There is a $5 fee to attend the seminar and pre-registration is needed by Feb. 3.
