Allison Gienapp state winner 2009 Missouri FFA Forest Management and Products Entrepreneurship & Placement Proficiency Award

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16, 2009– Allison Gienapp, of the Cameron FFA Chapter, Cameron, Mo., was named the state winner of the Forest Management and Products Proficiency Award at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention.

 

Gienapp, a junior at Cameron R-1 High School, is the son of Mike and Rhonda Gienapp. Her FFA advisors are Ron Alden and Carmen Buller.

 

As an FFA member, Gienapp participated in national and state conventions. She is has also been a state convention delegate. Gienapp attended State FFA leadership camps and area officer training. Gienapp is also a member of the National Honors Society and the Drama Honors Society. She has served as a volunteer in her community. 

 

Gienapp’s Supervised Agriculture Experience involves working with her father. Gienapp has learned proper forest maintenance skills when cutting wood with her father. Gienapp plans to restore her family’s property with new trees and to maintain the area for future generations who will reside in the area.

 

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Forest Management and Products is one of 47 proficiency awards presented at the state level. This Forest Management and Products Proficiency Award was sponsored by the Missouri Tree Farm Committee.

 

The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has more than 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .

 

The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
