End CDEEntomology3rd-ClarkcCo-1608 Photo available at: http://agebb.missouri.edu/news/moffaconv/CDE/pics/IMG_1608.JPG CLARK COUNTY FFA ENTOMOLOGY TEAM PLACES THIRD AT STATE COLUMBIA , Mo., April 17 2009 - The Clark County FFA Chapter placed third in the Entomology Career Development Event at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention. There were 48 teams in the competition. The team members were Dalton Ludwick, Alicia Tripp, Spencer Waschenbach and Lindsey Williams. There were 184 individuals competing in the event with Ludwick placing 18th, Waschenbach placing 12th and Tripp placing 33rd. The Kahoka FFA advisors are Danny Oilar and Mark Lemmon. The entomology teams take a written exam on the pesticide application and safety regulations as well as identify species of insects. Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this contest is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. Career development events engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals. The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has more than 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .
