LITTLETON, FROM THE KEYTESVILLE FFA CHAPTER, RECOGNIZED AS AREA 4 STAR IN AGRIBUSINESS

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 16, 2009 - The Missouri FFA Association named Kendall Littleton of Keytesville, Mo., a member of the Keytesville FFA Chapter, as Area 4 Star in Agribusiness at the 81th Missouri FFA Convention. His parents are Jerry and Laurinda Littleton. His advisor is David Cook.

 

Area Star in Agribusiness is based on outstanding agribusiness activities as part of the student’s Supervised Agricultural Experience Program and FFA leadership activities. Area 4 covers 19 chapters in the Northeast District.

 

MFA Inc., Columbia, sponsors the Area Star in Agribusiness awards.

 

Littleton ’s Supervised Agricultural Experience began with the purchase of three tractor-trailers. Littleton now operates two tractor-trailers and has two full-time drivers in his employment. He has continually worked to upgrade his equipment and hopes to expand to a third truck in the near future.

 

Littleton has served as the chairman of various chapter committees, including recruitment and barnwarming planning committees. He has competed in the livestock, nursery and landscape, and entomology career development events. He has attended both State FFA and National FFA conventions, and has been an exhibitor at the Missouri State Fair.

 

Littleton is a member of the National Honor Society, C-2000, Future Business Leaders of America and drama club. He is student council president. He is a captain of the Keytesville baseball and basketball teams. Littleton has been a KMZU Basketball Dream Team member for two years. Littleton also has broken three Missouri High School baseball pitching records in his career.

 

After high school, Littleton plans to study plant science and landscaping at Missouri State University . He hopes to have his own landscaping business in addition to his trucking business.

 

The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has over 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .
