Mankey wins Missouri FFA Creed Speaking contest

COLUMBIA , Mo. , April 17, 2009 - Samantha Mankey of the Lake CTC FFA Chapter, places first in the Missouri FFA Creed Speaking contest at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention.

Sixteen individuals from six districts were selected to compete at the state level.

 

MFA Inc. sponsors the competition requiring contestants to recite the FFA creed. Speakers are then asked to answer a series of questions based on their interpretation of the creed. A panel of judges determines each participant’s score. FFA members gain self-confidence, presentation skills, poise and sharpen their ability to think quickly as they participate in the activity.

 

The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has more than 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .

 

The FFA Mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
