East Buchanan FFA Agricultural Mechanics Team Takes First Place at State
COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2009 – The East Buchanan FFA Chapter placed first in the FFA Agricultural Mechanics Career Development Event at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention. There were 60 teams in the competition.
The winning team members are Alex LaFave, Matthew Copeland and Colton Lee. LaFave ranked sixth, Copeland ranked 12th and Lee placed 31st in individual competition. All received Group I ratings. The East Buchanan FFA advisors are Chase Holcumbrink and Chuck Wilson.
Individuals in this contest use problem-solving skills learned in the classroom to complete their activity.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this contest is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. Career development events engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
