Naeger from Ste. Genevieve FFA Chapter is named Area 15 Star in Placement
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., April 24, 2020 - The Missouri FFA Association recognized Kyle Naeger of the Ste. Genevieve FFA Chapter as the Area 15 Star in Placement. Naeger is the son of Myron and Kim Naeger of Saint Mary. His advisor is Hannah Fritsche-Donze.
Area Stars in Placement are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agricultural business as a part of a student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. Area 15 includes 21 chapters in the Southeast District.
MFA Inc., Columbia, sponsors the 16 area Star in Placement awards and the State Star in Placement Award.
Naeger’s SAE program started as a member of the ground crew for Ste. Genevieve R-II Schools. His duties include mowing grass, trimming trees and bushes, picking up trash, pulling weeds, mulching flower beds, and maintaining and repairing landscape equipment. In addition, he is employed at his family’s farm, K&M Naeger Farms, St. Mary. Naeger’s responsibilities encompass all aspects of the farm operation including equipment operation and maintenance, crop production, and cattle care.
Naeger currently serves as chapter 1st vice president, and previously served as chapter chaplain and treasurer. He competed at the state level in the livestock evaluation career development event and at the district level in the entomology, poultry and FFA knowledge CDEs. At the area level, Naeger won proficiency awards in diversified crop production placement and grain production. Naeger was named Chapter Star Greenhand. He was a delegate and on the courtesy corps at the state FFA convention. He also attended National FFA Convention & Expo; Lead, Educate, Advance, Develop Conference for Chapter Officers; and Greenhand Motivational Conference.
In addition to FFA, Naeger is a member of A&M Off Road Park and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
After graduating high school, Naeger’s plans include attending Ranken Technical College, St. Louis, to study welding. Naeger said he plans to take over the family farm and help continue its growth.
The Missouri FFA has 25,945 members representing 348 chapters. The national organization has more than 700,000 members representing 8,612 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
