South Shelby FFA Chapter Agricultural Sales Team Takes First Place at State
COLUMBIA , Mo., April 17, 2009 - The South Shelby FFA Chapter placed first in the Missouri FFA Agricultural Sales Career Development Event at the 81th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 24 teams in the competition.
The winning team members are Katti Carroll, Trevor Collins, Amelia Goers and Elizabeth Russell. Russell ranked first, Goers ranked fourth and Collins ranked ninth out of 91 individuals. South Shelby FFA Advisors are Russell Schleiermacher and Tim Larrick.
Entries include an individual sales presentation and team sales situation for an agricultural product. Competitors also are asked to demonstrate their ability to relate to customers, prospect for customers and carry out promotions
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this contest is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. Career development events engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
