Pemberton, a junior at Richland R-IV High School, is the daughter of Randall and Karen Pemberton. Her advisor is Scott Hedges. Pemberton has participated in the National FFA Convention Courtesy Corp. She has been a Missouri State Fair exhibitor and competed in FFA Knowledge Career Development Events. She was a reporter and 1st Vice President for her chapter. She has received the Star Greenhand award, as well as the Star Chapter award. Pemberton’s Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) involves working on her family farm with her father and grandfather and focusing on beef and sheep production. She helped care for sheep, feeder calves, show lambs, and show steers while balancing school activities. She has learned how to improve animal health as well as learning about agricultural business. Pemberton’s future plans include expanding her SAE while continuing to produce and show lambs. She also plans to attend college and pursue a career in agricultural education. Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Diversified Livestock Production Placement is one of 47 proficiency awards presented at state level. The Missouri Livestock Marketing Association sponsored this award. The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has more than 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands . The FFA Mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education.
