Photo available at: http://agebb.missouri.edu/news/moffaconv/ProfWin/pics/IMG_3861.JPG James Receives Second Placed Missouri FFA Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award Columbia , Mo., April 16, 2009–Tiffany James, of the Pleasant Hope High School, Pleasant, Mo., was named second place of the Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention. James is a senior at Pleasant Hope High School . She is the daughter of Rex and Amanda James. As an FFA member, James has attended state and national FFA conventions. Outside of FFA, she is a member of National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and varsity volleyball and soccer. James began her Supervised Agricultural Experience when she started helping her dad started milk jersey cows. She is currently learning to artificially inseminate. Her work consists of feeding the cows and selecting sires to use in A.I. James wants to increase the overall production and health of her livestock. Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Dairy Production Entrepreneurship is one of 47 proficiency awards presented at the state level. This award is sponsored by the Midwest Dairy Association. The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has more than 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .
