McCrory from Clopton Named Area 5 Star in Placement

COLUMBIA , Mo. , April 16, 2009 – The Missouri FFA Association recognized Paige McCrory of the Clopton FFA Chapter as the Area 5 Star in Placement at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention. She is the daughter of Mike McCrory and Karen McCrory of Clarksville, Mo. Her advisor is Mike McCrory.

 

Area Stars in Placement are selected based upon outstanding achievement in work experience in an agriculture business as part of a student’s Supervised Agricultural Experience Program and active participation in FFA. Area 5 covers 18 chapters in the Northeast District.

 

MFA Inc., Columbia, sponsors the 16 Area Star in Placement awards.

 

McCrory’s Supervised Agricultural Experience Program consists of Agricultural Placement working for Twin Rivers Marina, Ashburton Farms and Bank of Lousiana. She also raises Shorthorn cattle, market lambs and Boer goats.

 

McCrory has served as Area 5 president and chaplain. She also has served the Clopton FFA Chapter as President, Secretary and Historian. She has gone to state in dairy cattle, dairy products, soils, beginning record book, prepared public speaking division 1. McCrory also has been a member from the Missouri Agribusiness Academy.

McCrory is serving as president of the Clopton chapter of Future Business Leaders of America and senior class president.  She was co-captain of the Clopton softball team receiving All-District and all EMO Conference honors.

 

After high school graduation McCrory plans to attend University of Missouri . She will be studying agricultural education and leadership and communication.

 

The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has over 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .
