Jordan Campbell Second Place State Winner 2009 Missouri FFA Agricultural Communications Proficiency Award

COLUMBIA , Mo., April 16, 2009 – Jordan Campbell of the Chillicothe FFA Chapter, Chula, Mo., was named the second place state winner of the FFA Agricultural Communications Proficiency Award at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention.

 

Campbell is a junior at Grand River Tech School and is the daughter of Angie Campbell. Her FFA advisors are Rusty Black, Keith Dietzschold, Leda Schreiner, and Jim Grozinger.          

           

Campbell has been very active in her FFA chapter. She has attended state convention and competed in soils career development events. She has won the chapter FFA leadership medal.    

 

Campbell has worked at the Chula Farmers Cooperative since September of 2007. She has created a company website where they place their grains, fertilizer, and fuel prices. Campbell plans to work and the Chula Farmers Cooperative throughout college. She is considering attending Trenton Community College and then later transferring to Missouri Western State University and to become a nurse.

 

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Communications is one of 47 proficiency awards presented at state level. The Missouri Young Farmers and Young Farm Wives sponsored this award.

 

The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has over 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .

 

The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
