Troy FFA Knowledge Team Places Second at State Competition

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2009 - The Troy FFA Chapter claimed second place in the FFA Knowledge Career Development Event at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention.  There were 52 teams in the competition.

 

Troy team members are Adam Chesser, Emily Crane, Leslie Erbie and Jamie Pieper.  Chesser ranked fourth, Piper ranked fifth and Erbe ranked 10th out of 204 individuals. The Troy FFA advisors are Alan Harrell, Doyle Justus, Matt McCrory, and Rob Calvin

 

The knowledge teams spend numerous hours studying for the 100-question test covering FFA history and information on the National FFA Organization.

 

Sponsored by the Missouri FFA Association, this contest is one of many ways the FFA prepares student members for career success.  Career development events engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.

 

The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has more than 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.
