Missouri FFA News Releases

COLUMBIA , Mo., April 16, 2009 – Kelsie Young of Aurora, Mo., has been selected the 2009-2010 Area 11 State FFA Vice President. Young is a member of the Aurora FFA Chapter. Her advisors are Craig Grisham and Jim Spencer, Jr.

Young’s FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience Program consists of commercial beef cattle, placement in agriculture education and placement in retail business.

Young has served as secretary and first vice president of the Aurora FFA chapter. She has served as chair of the recruitment committee and the chapter development division.

Young participated in the State FFA Agricultural Sales, Livestock Career Development Events and received a Group 1 individual rating in both contests. She represented the Missouri FFA Association at the National Western Roundup in Denver, Co. Young also received the Agricultural Education proficiency award on the area level.

Young served as the student council president and vice president. She was also the National Honor Society president and has served as a Future Business Leaders of America reporter and historian. She was a producer of the media production staff and business editor of the school yearbook and a captain on the girls golf team for two years.

Young plans to attend the Missouri State University where she will pursue a degree in Agricultural Communications.

The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has over 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .
