Snider, a graduate of Aurora High School, is the son of David and Patti Snider. His advisors are Craig Grisham and Jim Spencer Jr. As an FFA member, Snider attended state FFA convention in 2008. Snider was an area fair exhibitor. He has had a reserve grand champion bull at the Missouri State Fair. Snider began his Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAE) when he came across employment with Bellis Polled Herefords through his agriculture education instructors. Snider has worked on the farm and he also has become a herdsman for the company. He said while working there he learned how much time it spent doing veterinary work on the farm. He learned to give shots to the cattle as well as the actual working of the herd. Since graduation he has taken on full time employment. He is in charge of the show string, and the entire breeding program. Snider said he has plans to continue working in the beef industry while exploring employment in welding. Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Beef Production is one of the 47 proficiency awards presented at state level. This award is sponsored by the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association. The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has over 507,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and The Virgin Islands. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. -END-
