Miller FFA Knowledge Team Places Fourth at State Competition
COLUMBIA, Mo., April 17, 2009 - The Miller FFA Chapter claimed fourth place in the FFA Knowledge Career Development Event at the 81st Missouri FFA Convention. There were 52 teams in the competition.
Miller team members are Jonatha Brewer, Kayla Gammil, Tori Jones, and Austin Richardson. Jones ranked eighth and Brewer ranked twelfth out of 204 individuals. The Miller advisors are Jay Sheperd and Lyle Whittaker.
The knowledge teams spend numerous hours studying for the 100-question test covering FFA history and information on the National FFA Organization.
Sponsored by the Missouri FFA Association, this contest is one of many ways the FFA prepares student members for career success. Career development events engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
The Missouri FFA has 24,410 members representing 317 chapters. The national organization has more than 500,000 members representing 7,439 local chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.
