JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., April 24, 2020 - The Missouri FFA Association announced Lauryn Robnett of the Audrain County R-VI FFA Chapter as one of four finalists for the State Star Farmer. The other finalists are Jared Groebe, Cameron FFA Chapter; Jacob Daniel Dierking, Santa Fe FFA Chapter; and Kaitlyn Cloud, Carthage FFA Chapter.

Finalists for State Star in Farmer were selected based upon outstanding production agriculture in the student’s supervised agricultural experience program and active participation in FFA. The winner of the State Star Farmer will be revealed at a summer event.

MFA Inc., Columbia, sponsors the 16 area Star Farmer awards as well as the State Star Farmer Award.

Lauryn Robnett - Area 5

Lauryn Robnett is a member of the Audrain County R-VI FFA Chapter. Robnett’s supervised agricultural experience program began as a freshman with two commercial cows and renting 29 cropland acres. She soon started to diversify by adding show steers and goats, and increasing acreage where she rotates corn and soybeans. Robnett said she works hard to grow her operation and increase livestock quality. Robnett is the daughter of Jon and Dana Robnett of Laddonia. Her advisors are Stacy French and Britton Francis.

Jared Groebe - Area 2

Jared Groebe is a member of the Cameron FFA Chapter. Groebe’s supervised agricultural experience program started with purchasing five bred heifers, planting 13 acres of corn and 10 acres of soybeans. The next year, Groebe expanded his operation by increasing the cow herd to 10, and crop production to 29 acres of corn and 22 acres of soybeans. Groebe is now breeding 30 head of cattle, and growing 60 acres of corn, 60 acres of soybeans and 75 acres of forage. Groebe is the son of Dwayne and Ronda Groebe of Cameron. His advisors are Carmen Buller and Chris Henderson.

Jacob Daniel Dierking - Area 6

Jacob Daniel Dierking is a member of the Santa Fe FFA Chapter. Dierking’s supervised agricultural experience program began in 2015 when he rented a 10-acre field from a neighbor to grow field corn. In 2019, his row-crop operation expanded to 306 acres of corn and soybeans. In addition, he does custom field work, lays drainage tile, and grows sweet corn, green beans, and Indian corn. Throughout Dierking’s SAE, to increase productivity, he purchased three tractors and numerous farm implements. Dierking is the son of Joel and Marla Dierking of Blackburn. His FFA advisor is Martha Schreiman.

Kaitlyn Cloud - Area 9

Kaitlyn Cloud is a member of the Carthage FFA Chapter. Cloud’s supervised agricultural experience program consists of purebred Simmental and Sim-Angus seed-stock operations. Within these operations, she utilizes embryo transfer and artificial insemination. She also owns recipient cows for embryo transfer to produce custom genetics in calves for customers. In addition, Cloud raises purebred Corgi puppies to sell to breeders across the United States. Cloud is the daughter of Chris and Michelle Cloud of Carthage. Her advisors are Brandon Duff, Chris Cloud, Tom Howard and Justin Mauss.
